Insta Crush Saturday : Yara Shahidi

Hi guys, Happy Weekend and Happy New Month!

Before I dive in to the business of today I just want to say I'm so excited that it's "my birth month" and I really can't wait!
I'm glad we all made it to a new month and I just wish God's blessing on our lives and all we do.

Alright, enough of that!

Today's Insta crush is a young woman I admire so much. Not only for her talents but for her heart.

Yara Shahidi,  is an eighteen year old American actress. Daughter of an Iranian-American, Afshin Shahidi (photographer) and mother, Keri Salter Shahidi (African American and commercial actress). She is also the eldest of two brothers Sayeed Shahidi (child actor and model) and Ehsan Shahidi.

Yara, is best known for her role as Zoey Jackson in the sitcom "Blackish" and also the spin of series "Grownish."

What intrigues me most about this young woman is not her amazing talent as an actress and activist, but her philanthropic work and empathy for others.

At a very young age, she has affected courses like, The Black lives matter movement, The Feminist course as well as her concern for human equality.

Her works with this platforms has led her to many accomplishments as well as being noticed by Former First Lady, Michelle Obama, who wrote her a letter of recommendation to Harvard University. She was also given the opportunity to interview Hillary Clinton in 2017.

Yara founded philanthropic organizations such as the Eighteen x18 with social news publishers which is a platform that encourages her peers to vote.

She also founded the "Yara Club" a partnership with the Young women's leadership network of New York, which provides online mentorship in hopes of ending poverty through education.

Yara continues to inspire so many of her peers and so many others in different works of life.

Her heart and zeal to make the world a better place is what drives her and makes her one of the most celebrated young woman in the world today. She inspires me as well and that is why I celebrate her today.
