As we all know, urine, sweat and the liver are all the ways our body gets rid of toxins. But sometimes the body needs extra help to further the process and that is where the importance of detox comes in. 

We've also read about the importance of detox and I'm sure some of us have tried it. I for one, didn't think much of being on a detox plan, at least not until a week ago when I decided to make some dieting changes. 

How has it been so far? 

Well, it's not my usual 'morning coffee delight' so I'm a little upset about that. I will say however, that giving up caffeine for a while has been good for me.
I feel more energetic and dare I say I have lost a few pounds.

So without further ado, here are five (5) reasons why you should get on the 'detox train.'

This is mostly beneficial to people like me who hate the thought of working out. If weight loss is your goal, then detox is a good way to jump-start the process. It also helps in maintaining and managing your current weight and hinders the possibility of gaining more.

Detox gives you a high energy boost. It takes away sugar and caffeine which are causes of energy drainage. Best part is, it leaves you feeling energetic all through the day.

  • Helps your internal organs 
Your liver and kidneys work over time to rid you of toxins. And though they are in good working condition, they may not be able to rid your system of all the toxins in it and so detox helps finish the job. A detox diet helps to purify your system of toxins and helps your organs work effectively. 

  • Nicer Breath
Remember wishing your breath didn't stink so badly even though you brush your mouth regularly?
With a detox, your digestive system will be able to function better and also remove causes of bad breath. 

  • Clearer Skin
You can use all the skincare products available to mankind but if your diet isn't healthy you will still have skin defects.
Detox helps you achieve a clear and nicer skin by literally sweating out the toxins and clearing your pores. Leaving you with a healthy and clear skin. 


This and many more reasons are why you should try s detox diet dinner than later. The most easiest and available detox is lemon/lime detox and try drinking more green tea and less of chocolate beverages and caffeine.
